
| NORTHERN holds 23nd Annual High School Completion Ceremony |
On the evening of May 8, 2009, at the Nick Salazar Center for the Arts auditorium on the Espanola Campus, NORTHERN recognized graduates who earned their New Mexico High School diploma by successfully passing the General Education Development (GED) Exam . During the 2008-2009 academic year, 35 graduates completed the GED by preparing in the college's Adult Basic Education program. Graduates from ABE's sister program, the High School Equivalency (HEP) program, also attended the ceremony. The ceremony began with a brief welcome address by President Griego followed by the keynote address by Regent Feliberto Martinez and the student address by Antonio Gallegos. Also in attendance were special guests and various members of the college administration, as well as ABE and HEP faculty and staff. Refreshments were served immediately after the ceremony at a reception in the lobby where graduates got a chance to mingle and take pictures with their families, GED instructors and staff, and several college administrators. |
