Full time Tenure Track Radiography Clinical Coordinator/Instructor

Responsible for the clinical education process, overseeing scheduling, competencies and performance evaluations as well as some classroom instruction. Other duties to include assistance with curriculum design, student advisement and assessment data collection.

Required Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree (or ability to complete Bachelor’s Degree before January 1, 2010.   AART certification plus 2 years Radiology experience (3 years preferred) and 1 year experience in a JRCERT accredited program.  Salary $43,472 plus full benefits.

Director of RN to BSN Completion Program (tenure track)

Responsibilities include coordination, implementation and administration of a new and innovative RN to BSN curriculum with a holistic/integrative nursing care focus.  Duties include teaching, implementation of curriculum in manner congruent with theoretical framework of program, participation in college committees, supervision of faculty, scheduling of classes, student advisement, program evaluation, and leadership for national accreditation activities.  Minimum Requirements:  Masters degree in Nursing and a Doctorate in any field.  Current license to practice as RN in New Mexico or compact state required.  Three years full-time teaching experience in a nursing program and knowledge of Baccalaureate nursing programs preferred. Applicant must embrace the philosophy of holistic/integrative nursing practice. Advanced certification in holistic nursing desired.  Eleven month position available August 2008. Salary Range: $70K to $75K   Open until Filled.

Laboratory Technician (Math & Science)

Keep instructors informed of program policies, safety, etc.; collect syllabi at start of semester and schedule labs per syllabi; communicate with professors as needed; make sure all classes participate in safety policy: video, rules and quiz; order goggles and other supplies.  Ensure labs are prepped, set up and taken down as scheduled; order chemicals, supplies, equipment as needed; keep inventories up to date in both GE and HT labs; manage hazardous waste as trained; keep training up to date; maintain MSDS’s.  Keep labs clean and supplied; minor equipment repair; maintain chemicals in safe, organized manner.  Assist with experiments.  Facilitate use of LabWorks, assist in creation of organic lab sequence; develop a Chemical Hygiene Plan and train lab instructors in lab safety.  Minimum Requirements:  Associate Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Must have experience performing technical support services for an instructional program in a related discipline or the equivalent to two years of college with at least 16 semester units of laboratory course work in chemistry, microbiology or biochemistry.  Experience in laboratory safety and handling of chemicals in a laboratory setting is desirable.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.  The successful candidate must possess a demonstrated capacity to work independently; demonstrated ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a laboratory setting.  Salary:  $23K to $24K Deadline for applications:  April 30, 2008.

Full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the College of Mathematics, Science, and Engineering

Position will require theteaching of upper division (junior and senior level) courses in mathematics. Successful candidate will be able to teach in several areas to be chosen from ordinary and partial differential equations, vector analysis, advanced calculus, discrete mathematics, mathematics education, probability and statistics, complex analysis and numerical analysis.  

Required Qualifications:  PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or related field, with preference for PhD in Applied Mathematics. Candidates with a Masters Degree working towards a PhD dissertation will also be considered and are encouraged to apply.

Full-time Faculty Position in the College of Nursing

Currently seeking innovative and visionary instructors to join our excellent nursing program.  Recruiting candidates for a full-time, 11 month faculty position to teach in the nursing program beginning Summer semester 2008.  Our Nursing program is an ADN program with an LPN option and is located on the Espanola, New Mexico campus of NNMC.  The faculty members of our program are responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the mission, purpose, and objectives of the Nursing Program.  Teaching responsibilities may include classroom, online, and clinical practice supervision. Med/Surg/Peds specialty preferred.  College faculty responsibilities include student advisement, participation in accreditation and college community activities.  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution, and a current unencumbered nursing license from the state of New Mexico or compact state member.  Applicant must be a registered nurse with proven clinical expertise in his or her specialty. Faculty in Environmental Sciences

The Environmental Science Faculty member will be expected to teach lower and upper division courses not limited to soil chemistry, hydrology, and ecology. Preference will be given to applicants with the strong community based participation with respect to the environmental sciences which may include record of published research or community or civic based report writing and participation.

Duties include student advisement and mentoring; working with Program Director, Department Chair, and Advisory Committee members in developing curricula for effective learning and teaching; assessment activities; participation in department and college committees; and serving the community through outreach activities. The position will require experience in the effective use of appropriate technology in performance of the listed responsibilities and accountabilities. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to educational quality and professional development. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. or Masters of Science on a Ph.D. track in environmental or related sciences. Teaching experience at the College level is particularly desirable along with demonstrative success in outreach programs for undergraduate and secondary students. Field and/or community experience in environmental issues is desirable.

Radiography Program Director/Instructor

Individual will be responsible for instructing courses in the radiography field, participate in student advisement and registration.  Additionally the individual will be responsible for directing the Radiography Department.  Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in any field, but must meet the JRCERT qualifications.  Individual will be required to acquire a Master’s Degree by 2009.   Must have knowledge of curriculum design, program administration, evaluation, and JRCERT standards.  Individual must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

Part-time Faculty Positions – Art, Music, Dance and Theatre:    The Department of Fine Arts is seeking applicants for adjunct faculty in the areas of Art, Music, Dance and Theatre.  In studio arts of particular interest are applicants to teach watercolor, life drawing, micaceous pottery and matting & framing. In the performing arts of particular interest are applicants to teach acting, light & sound and stagecraft.  MFA in area preferred.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree required in the specific discipline.  Exception will be if the individual has 18 semester hours of graduate course work in the discipline.  Vocational courses require either a certificate or licensure in the specific vocation.

Salary:

Part-time instructors are paid on the per credit hour basis.  The credit hour rate depends on the educational level of the individual.  Example:  Master’s degree teaching one three credit hour theory course will be paid $1,939.26 per semester ($646.42 per credit hour); Bachelor’s degree teaching one three credit hour theory course will be paid $1,809.50 per semester, etc.   Classes usually meet two or three times per week for total time of one hour and a half.  Lab classes may meet for a longer period.    (Note:  The rate is higher for Instructors with MA and Ph.D. degrees teaching upper division courses.)

Effective Date:

As positions become available throughout the academic year including the summer semester.  Fall semester is from mid August to mid December.  Spring semester is from mid January to mid May.  Summer semester is usually from early June to end of July.
