Student Employment
“Federal Work Study” is part of the financial aid package and is based on financial need. Students awarded Federal Work Study will need to work the approximate hours listed below to earn the entire award during the academic year. While there are thirty-two academic weeks per year, we have computed hours per week based on the thirty weeks that a student might actually be able to work. (Example: $2,240 award divided by 30 weeks divided by $7.00 pay rate = 10.67 hours/week).
Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program provides jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay educational expenses. Students must be enrolled at least halftime. An average of 20 hours per week at $7 an hour wage constitutes a normal work load. Students are paid on the 5th and 20th of each month.
State Work-Study (SWS) Program is a student employment program established to employ qualified students who do not show financial aid eligibility. The normal work load is 20 hours per week at $7 an hour wage. Students must be enrolled at least halftime and are paid on the 5th and 20th of each month.
